Commercial Project Guide

You may think of Blue Star as ‘just a residential painter,’ but we do much more than that. We do lots of commercial painting work in the Annapolis area, Baltimore, and even DC. Any commercial project that you have on your list is the perfect job for Blue Star. Some commercial projects we have completed in Annapolis over the years, are the Annapolis Pottery, Sofi’s Crepes, the Fleet Reserve Club and more.

Frequently Asked Questions about Commercial Projects:

What sheen of paint should I choose for my project?
Paint sheens often depend on the area it is being applied and personal preference. We commonly recommend; eggshell for walls, semi gloss for trim and other decorative features, and flat for ceilings. Reference our Paint sheen guide for more details.

Do you do exterior work in the winter?
We do exterior work in weather that is 45 degrees or warmer. Some days during the winter are warm enough to work outdoors and we try to do some exterior work on warm enough winter days.

Do you handle lead paint projects?
Yes, we are EPA lead certified.

Which brand of paint do you use?
We typically use and recommend PPG, but we also use Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, Farrow & Ball.

What warranty do you offer for projects?
We offer a 5 year exterior adhesion warranty on all exterior painting projects.

Will you inform other tenants that you are working near their property?
No, we appreciate it if you contact your neighbors that we will be working in the area so they know we may be near or in their yards. If there are shared-access areas please inform neighbors we will be in the area.

Does Blue Star provide the paint or do I provide the paint?
Blue Star will provide the paint and the cost of the paint will be included in your project estimate. This price will also reflect the contractor discount Blue Star receives.
